There is no single best area to live in Rewari for every family. The right one is the area that suits your commute, your children's school and the type of house you can get, so choose by those three and not by a list of "top areas". This guide gives you the questions to ask and a checklist for the visit, and it does not rank localities, because we have not verified what makes one better than another.
If you want the town in general, read our page on packers and movers in Rewari. This post is only about choosing where to live.
What do I know about Rewari before I choose an area?
Only a few things are firm. Wikipedia describes Rewari as a city in south-west Haryana, the headquarters of its district and part of the National Capital Region. It names some neighbourhoods, among them Qutubpur, Gandhi Nagar and Majra-Bhalakhi, and mentions that a campus for AIIMS is planned at Majra-Bhalakhi. It does not say which of them is better for families, and neither do we. Treat any ranking you see online, from us or from anyone else, as an opinion until you have seen the street yourself.
Which three things should decide the area?
Decide in this order, because each one narrows the next.
- The daily commute. If someone commutes by train, note that Rewari Junction is on Station Road. If someone drives to work elsewhere, test the route in the morning, not on a Sunday.
- The school run. Fix the school first, then look for houses within a comfortable trip of it. Ask the school about admission timing before you fix a moving date.
- The type of home. A house with stairs, a flat, a plot with a new build and a house in an older lane all behave differently on moving day and in daily life.
What should I check when I visit an area?
Visit at two different times and carry this list.
| Check | Why it matters for a family |
|---|---|
| Street at school-run time | Traffic, parking and whether a child can cross safely |
| Street after dark | Lighting, and how it feels to walk back |
| Water and power in the house | Ask the owner and a neighbour, not only the broker |
| Stairs, balcony and terrace | Safety with small children, and the carrying plan on moving day |
| Nearest clinic and pharmacy | Look it up on the map and walk or drive the distance |
| Daily needs on foot | Milk, vegetables, repairs |
| Lane or road width at the gate | A large vehicle may not reach the door |
How does the area change the move?
It changes the vehicle, the crew time and the carrying plan. A house in a narrow lane may need goods to be carried from where the vehicle can stop. A flat may depend on lift timings. A house with several floors needs more carrying time. Give the mover the full address, the floor and a landmark, and send a photo of the approach if you can. Our household shifting page explains how a quote is built, and our packing and unpacking page covers boxes and labels for a family home.
Should I decide before moving the children?
If you can, yes. Moving a family into a home that turns out wrong is the costliest mistake, because a second move follows. A short rental, a stay with relatives or a few nights in a guest house gives you time to look properly. When you have decided, plan the shift around school terms and exams, and ask for a quote on the contact page.
